Save for the trip to see Kreator in April, this year has been a disaster.

And now seeing Immolation in Vienna* is the one thing I'm hanging on to keep me afloat this summer.

*one-off headline show, my very first chance ever to see them do one of these... they're always either opening for bands I don't care much for or criminally low on the bill at festivals I could get to...

@anatudor I'm going to https://obsceneextreme.cz/en next week. It was a pretty cheap festival before ukrainian war. Sadly, it's quite expensive now.

Upcoming shows for me this summer:
Cavalera, The Cure and Perturbator in Phillgood fest, Hills of Rock (3 days), Moonspell with Sofia's symphonic orchestra in Plovdiv's Ancient Theater, Brutal Assault, Running Free old school festival in Strinava camping, Dryanovo. Might go to Dynamo fest in Eindhoven if time permits. :)

@bundyo Cavalera! Headbang for me too...

I'm afraid I can't afford more than one show this summer... and, tbh, I don't think I really feel up for concerts anymore, so it's not just about the money, it's also about not wanting it bad enough.

But if it's just one, I'm picking Immolation. Might be the only chance I ever get to see them play a full-length headline show.

By the way, you may consider Running Free festival in future years - it is a small one, relatively close to Romania and has a cheap camping site next to it. Mostly old trash/death/speed bands. We usually have Romanian visitors there. :)

Running Free Festival 2026 | Underground Metal | Bulgaria

Underground metal festival at Strinava Camping, near Dryanovo, Bulgaria. 28–29 August 2026.

Running Free Festival

@bundyo I'm afraid I can't afford camping. If I go to a festival, it needs to be in a big city or easy to get to a big city after.

And generally, while I might make an exception here or there, I'm pretty much done with festivals at this point.
