Your music library became endless. Something quiet disappeared when it did.

A short documentary about formats, streaming, and trying to work out whether the music changed, or I did.

My first video essay and I'd love if you took a look :) Had a blast and it would be so fun to make more of these!

@tg This is why I don’t do streaming. I buy my music from Apple. In addition to the CD’s I bought years ago. I ripped all those too.

Yes it’s still digital, I’d prefer physical media, but those are hard to come by now. Especially where I live.

But this way I still only have the songs and artists I like. It’s a small collection, mostly 80’s music but it’s what I like and I don’t care much to hear the new stuff.

If I should hear a song I like, I buy it from iTunes and add it to my offline collection.

I’m planning to burn them to CD as well just to have them physically.

Ideally I’d like to have the CD and rip it so I have both the physical as well add the digital version.

@DanielG sounds like a good process! I really think "owning" something and having a collection of things you picked is the trick.
@tg @quicheindustries Thanks for sharing! I deeply enjoyed it and I don't know how I would've found this otherwise.
