Went to see a physiotherapist today. At the end of my session, she said "I'll send you the exercises!" Um, ok. I thought I would just remember them, but that's fine.

What I got was a welcome message from some app that I am supposed to download and install. Sigh.

@KolokokoBird That's not cool.
@Hicsumus I am glad I am not the only one who thinks so!

Just saying. Pair it with the built-in-to-Windows "Windows Sandbox" and you can run an app like that, grab a few screenshots, delete it, wipe the sandbox, and, as they say, Bob's your Uncle.

The only downside is the app will probably want you to authenticate using the same email address you have at the doctor. But it's too late to protect that piece of information since the doctor already gave it away.

@ericphelps I don't run windows, which is kinda moot, as I am too grumpy to download an app just because somebody wants me to.

But at least I have a system in which I use a unique email address for every business I deal with, so I guess that did me some good here.

Thanks for your comment. Nice to see that somebody understands the privacy issues that bother me.

@KolokokoBird Good for you on separate emails for every account! I don't know why that isn't more common.

Sharing contact info and health status really bugs me. HIPPA says they can share information for your care, but… are the people they shared the info with covered by HIPPA? Might be interesting to run the app with a tracking firewall to see who it tries to contact. I can do that on Android.

At least get the clinic on their back foot and make them photocopy some exercise sheets for you.

@ericphelps Oh, interesting idea! I have never even heard of a tracking firewall, so you are ahead of me there.

I'm in Canada, so HIPPA doesn't apply. Other legislation does, though. I ought to see if there is any legislation that protects patients' details in this circumstance.

I appreciate your comments and suggestions.

@KolokokoBird There's a nice one for Android. I can set it up to block everything and log every attempt.
@ericphelps Sounds great. What is it called?
