Piper was one of the first gay characters I saw in comics. Glad to see his birthday falls (even if unintended) during Pride Month.
Also glad there's now more out LGBTQ characters in comics and animation, though IMO comics have done a better job. (Less diversity/more gatekeeping/more censorship in animation...)
20 years ago comics had Dykes to Watch Out For, Kyle's B&B, Northstar, Piper, etc. Animation had... Smithers/Big Gay Al/the couple in "Mission Hill"/a few one shot joke characters, and that's it.
