🤷🏿‍♂️Why are they all from Australia today? Australians must be angry that their football team lost to the US, so they're taking it out on me by sending their silliest poasters to argue with me on Juneteenth.

Look, I'm sorry that the Golden Koalas suck at football or whatever. Truly. And I mean they truly suck, not that I'm truly sorry. Losing to the USA at football? In front of the whole world? Embarrassing.

But look. If you're confused about why Lincoln's actions from the 2 years from the Emancipation Proclamation, until Black soldiers showed up in Texas, gave Confederates the impression that they would not face any real accountability for murdering more Black people and keeping slaves after the proclamation? If you don't know what happened at Fort Pillow, or what a Radical Republican was? Then go read a history book. But don't post silliness in my mentions from Australia on Juneteenth, talking about "Lincoln only had 5 days to hold Confederates accountable! Timeline error! 🤡"

Any country playing against the US team right now has one job: win. This is more important than Commonwealth countries beating England. Let England win. Save your strength. Beat the USMNT.

Guide for patriotic US citizens:
In football, we cheer *for* the US Women's National team. We cheer *against* the US Men's National team. Nothing against them, but you don't give Trump the satisfaction.

Same in ice hockey: Cheer *for* the US women, and *against* the US men.

In basketball, we cheer for both the men's and the women's team.

Because patriotism is supporting the 64% of US people that *don't* like fascism, and that care about other people.
♥️🇺🇸

Americans, if in doubt about whether to support a US team, ask yourselves, "If this team won gold, would they turn down the invite to go take fashy selfies and eat cold hamburgers in the oval office? Would they use their platform to speak out against fascism? Would they even get an invite?"

This is fashy garbage. We don't cheer for this.
@mekkaokereke Disgusting but we will not let them ruin the World Cup! I was at a watch party yesterday and RFK was in attendance at the USA-Australia match. The chorus of boos when his ugly face was on screen was beautiful!

@eva

Yup. People are usually less racist and less hateful than their fashy governments.

German people that hated nazis attended the 1936 Berlin Olympics, and cheered for Jesse Owens. Even some of the German Olympic team.

🕊️♥️🇩🇪

Fun fact:
Jesse Owens said that he experienced more racism and snubs from the US government and US president, than he did from the nazi government and from Hitler. Roosevelt was an anti-Black racist, excluding Black people from key parts of the New Deal, an anti-Asian racist, interning Japanese people in concentration camps but letting German and Italian Americans run around unbothered, and an antisemite, setting quotas for Jewish people that condemned many to concentration camps.

Less fun fact:
Luz Long, famous for helping Jesse Owens, congratulated him upon winning, and embraced a Black man in front of the world. Luz Long was then threatened by the nazi party. There is no record of Luz holding antisemitic views. Luz Long may have hated nazis, but... he was a nazi.🤷🏿‍♂️

He was a card holding member of the nazi party. He did a little nazi salute on the 2nd place podium next to Jesse Owens. He was drafted into the nazi army, and died a nazi in Sicily, when allied troops landed and overran his position. He died wearing his nazi uniform.

Luz Long is a cautionary tale.

It's shameful. Jessie Owens defeated the Nazis in Nazi Germany for the United States of America. Yet FDR did not invite him to the White House. We can be Certain that Eleanor Roosevelt had harsh words with FDR about this. Eleanor Roosevelt is a comrade. That woman had solidarity forever.
