Oh and I just read England's Dreaming by Jon Savage, and now my heart breaks when I see the Sid Vicious mug shot.
I was never a punk rocker but it's a highly interesting depiction of the whole punk rock phenomenon in its original surroundings. I mean, sure we had punk in Sweden but it never had or took on the same meaning as in the UK. And in the US, it was different again.

@mamzikorven Ooh sounds interesting, I’ll have to check out that book! I suppose it’s true of music in general, that its meaning shifts when it adapts to different cultural contexts.
