Looking up through three storeys to the impressive oval skylight near the entrance to the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) in Glasgow. This central lightwell was at the heart of the original Georgian mansion built for William Cumminghame of Laidlaw in 1778. Cunninghame was one of the Glasgow merchants who made their fortune trading tobacco and sugar from the slave plantations of the Caribbean and North America.

At the time it was built, it was one of the city's most impressive mansions, and while it's now been heavily modified, it's one of the few which have survived from this period of Glasgow's history.
