professionals have simulated it with padding and simulated weapons, knowing what will happen in advance

and in a distance less than about 20 feet or a second and a half roughly,

the attacker with the knife always got a stab in before the defender could draw and bring the gun to bear for a shot

dont bring a gun to a knife fight

I think many folks who believe that #firearm > #blade are thinking of the scene in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" where #IndianaJones is confronted by some random guy with leet blade skillz and just shoots him. Or something similar.
