I really enjoyed meeting up with other visionOS developers during last week's WWDC. The energy reminded me of the NeXT era, with passionate developers and users working with a tiny platform because they believe it's on the path towards the future they want to build—not because they're trying to hitch themselves onto an existing juggernaut of commercial success.

We're currently shipping three of our four products as native visionOS apps, and our fourth is now in development.

(For those who aren't familiar with the NeXT story: its technologies not only spawned the World Wide Web, but—after being acquired by Apple—became the foundation of all of Apple's current platforms: macOS, iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS.)
@kcase which reminds me… When will #OmniWeb 6.0 be released?? Wasn't it precisely initially developed fro NeXTSTEP? :-)
@cortig Yes, it was. Someday, maybe, I hope!
@kcase That is really cool to hear! I am glad there are still stories of people taking agency and building the future they want to see. It is fun to remember what it was like to discover playing with technology.
