I have a defect that makes me unable to leverage AI note-taking and summarization.

I have been forced in my life to rely on making my own hand-written notes, because the act of summarizing and selecting the key points to write out in short-form is what has reinforced in my brain the model of what I'm trying to learn.

For fifty years (yes, really) I have tried reading summaries and "Coles Notes" of things, and not once has that ever helped me learn as much as actively interacting with ideas.

@raganwald I've always found the act of summarizing something _myself_ and writing it down solidifies my understanding _and recall_ of that information. Reading somebody else's summary, not so much.

@raganwald it's like hiring somebody else to go to the gym for you. The outcome you want isn't that weights were lifted. Doing the lifting with your own muscles is the point.
