Cobot (Robot or Not? 351)

Listener Paul has heard the term “cobot” to refer to “collaborative robots,” but can a robot that requires a human to function really be a robot?

The Incomparable

@robot It's my understanding one of the big requirements for something to be a cobot is that it's designed specifically to be safe for humans to be around while it's running. Normal industrial robots live in cages with lots to safety measures to shut them down if a person enters its working area.

I believe you touched on other features, but this one is a biggie.
