Part of the problem with trying to advocate for trans people from a medical perspective is that people in the US see medical dependency as a weakness and failing of some sort. We view type two diabetics as having failed at prevention, cancer as failing to manage risk factors. Hard to get people to be empathetic for HRT access when they malign anything more than basic preventative care.

@me @sterophonick After starting HRT, I'm able to stay at a healthy weight after being underweight our whole life and battling hypoglycemia. We also stopped an unhealthy behavior we've struggled with since childhood. Also, all of our IBS symptoms are gone.

Taking HRT is the responsible decision for me.
