STOP calling it experimental.

@Lana my thyroid does not produce enough hormones. That is why I take a little thyroid hormone replacement pill each morning. It is considered perfectly safe and standard procedure.

The amount of thyroid hormone that is normal for humans has been determined. Interestingly the evidence supports meaningful age and sex differences for normal thyroid hormone ranges, but many labs still just use one scale for everyone anyway. Within that range doctors tend to let the patient decide where they feel the most comfortable, at the top, middle or bottom of the range, and adjust the dose accordingly. There is a lot of room to figure out what feels right for the body and the individual, with the patients own feelings, comfort and symptoms being the main deciding factors.

As far as I am aware there is no widespread criticism of this hormone replacement process, which many people rely on to live a happy and healthy life.

I assume I do not need to spell out the hypocrisy.

@oak_kitten it's so safe they'll even prescribe it to children, if there's a medical need. Again, with absolutely zero widespread criticism of this from the public.
@Lana I am pretty sure failing to prescribe this hormone replacement therapy to a child, when there is a medical need, would be considered malpractice. If a parent refused, I am pretty sure that would frequently result in legal action, due to them endangering the health and development of the child.
