"forget the sob story" is a hell of a thing to say to someone pointing a gun at you
gonna be a long one I think
*whistles* wow, we haven't had day-for-night of this caliber in a LONG time
I'm sensing a recurring theme here.
"My second-in-command will be Steve."
We ought to think through
what are the bad things
that could happen,
and what are the good things
that could happen
that we need to be ready for

Okay I know everybody wants to dunk on the diorama but this justification for why the house is a safe place is actually quite good IMO
Counterpoint: humans *are* animals
very long 20 minutes this has been
This reminds me of DEVIL GIRL FROM MARS without the dom, in that it's mostly assholes talking to each other about stuff I'm not super interested in
"I can feel it, and I need meat."
That's not the score, that's a different movie is playing in the distance
is it good when a plot abruptly jumps 3 weeks into the future because the writers can't really think of any way to move the story along naturally
Asking for a #Monsterdon
"oh these past few week with you… just off-camera…"
I'm not saying I *want* to see the character development we're being told about.
None of these people are characters yet.
I wonder what the moist bones are doing right now
It's been three weeks and they're out of fresh water. So he had water for two people for… a few months, at the outside?
I guess since there's a source nearby you don't need that much, but hm
…did she say Jimothy? It sounded like she said Jimothy.
AH YES, THE MAT-TSU-OH TEST
I hope the monster kills ALL of these people.
holy cow he walked THROUGH FOG?!
*are* we fighting for survival? honestly things seem pretty copacetic, there has been almost no conflict over the last 45 minutes. even when guns were being pointed at each other it is debatable if it was actually conflict.
the score being mixed so low this entire time is cracking me up
budget on this thing was probably like $15 and free sandwiches.
gadget? are you referring to a key as a gadget?
okay I guess the implication here is that he's *fabricating* a key by whittling
despite the key he held up clearly being metallic
whatever.
oh this whole movie is a ripoff of a Roger Corman jam?
wow, low-budget competing with low-budget
MAT-TSU-OH
Radioactive contamination makes you do woodland parkour I guess
A better movie would have Jada shoot or stab Mickey here in this scene at the climax of her story.
Alas, the script just says [some bullshit happens and the next scene starts]
that zoom-out has me appreciating that this movie does not have unmotivated zooming sickness, at least.
1969 is right on the border there and the shakycam we've been "treated" to suggests the operation of the camera is not exactly by a professional, but uh
It's Something
If I was watching this movie in a theatre I would legitimately think the incredibly quiet score is sound from some movie in another movie hall bleeding through.
20 more minutes until we can see the abrupt ending and be done with this
He's dead, Jimothy.
Mickey better watch it. John's let him off with the open threats of violence the last hundred times but THE NEXT ONE OH JUST YOU WAIT BUSTER
Joanna walking alone in the forest at night. Cut to shot of the monster jumping out at her.
Editor's asleep in the bay. "Oh, shit, right, the jump scare sting! I almost forgot."
Better noticeably late than never?
The monster fucked off into the rain, John's probably gonna shoot Mickey and bring this thing to a halt.
zzz
Up next on @miru: after-care
So, we should also watch THE DAY THE WORLD ENDED (1955), right?
To see the less-bad Corman movie this one was ripping off?
