YappariI had never seen a #monarch #caterpillar on the milkweed in my garden until the past 24 hours. All of a sudden I have had 4 sightings. #Gardening #Rewilding

Karl Auerbach@yappari In a few days that milkweed will be bare - devoured.
(I see that you have the broader leaf variety. In my area they seem to prefer the narrow leaf California native milkweed.)
Then the caterpillars will vanish. I thought that the birds had eaten 'em, but it seems that after the last molting the caterpillar will drop off and find a nice place to become a chrysalis and then a butterfly.
