Richard Madley on #Bbclaurak says "the kind of money that is needed for defence means that we have to take it from welfare"

Richard Madeley's personal net worth is estimated to be around £3.6 million ($5 million). Additionally, he and his wife, Judy Finnigan, share an impressive global property portfolio valued at approximately £12 million

@Geri

so take it from peoplewho cannot afford it and cannot fight back, not the ones that are scrooge counting their pennies while benefiting from the systems they decline to fund.

No defence prep will harm the rich far more than welfare claimants, but somehow that is not their problem....

@Geri The money could also be raised by selling some diamonds from Queen Camilla's crown - but diamonds are a queen's best friend.

@Geri

Just once I would love to see a journalist (or Laura at least) ask:

Why is a multimillionaire telling the government people who are struggling for rent, heating bills, food, that those people can afford it more than the multimillionaires?

@Geri how was it said?

As an aside, it appears to be hitting many departments. Transport is yet again being stripped which will one day soon end up killing people, for example some of the root causes from Potters Bar.

@EF I quoted him xx
@Geri apprecoate that but tone is hard to get from text. However, other posts suggest a celebrity doing political commentary is, BBC why? And secondly, someone with money does not speak for the masses.
@Geri amazing how your savings accumulate when you forget to pay for the shopping😉
