Perhaps someone familiar with #acarsdrama #avgeek can tell me what happened that caused this plane to divert back to the Austin airport. Anybody know?
@bruceturner
So you can search acarsdrama at jumpseat.acarsdrama.com but the plane spouting this ACARS is actually N856SY
@bruceturner
Seems they were going from Cancun to Dallas, were put into a holding pattern on the way into Dallas, then decided to divert to San Antonio. Dallas is currently #4 on most disrupted airports on Flightradar so that is why planes are likely diverting.
@bruceturner It looks like you confused the question because the two images are not for the same flight. @chillybot found the one for the ACARSdrama image - but it isn't what you asked about departing/returning AUS. N458WN is the one. Usually airlines & news don't report on diverts. One can make an educated guess on likelihood of weather, mechanical, medical or bad-pax/misbehavior. Since the plane was scheduled to proceed to DAL, probably not mechanical. FAA advisory says thunderstorms at DAL.
