I'm also excited to have computers that work properly. My lenovo laptop was pissing me off with how slow it was being. People in the Linux Mint communities were complaining about Cinnamon crashing a lot, which was my experience. Also my apt kept getting all corrupt. So I decided to try and switch to linux mint xfce to see if it would run faster.

It was faster for sure, but I kept getting errors every time I would install things, and when I tried to look it up the only advice I could find was "what a mess, reinstall the whole os" so I did, but it was still giving those errors. So I said f Linux Mint completely and tried putting Debian on it, but the lack of internet drivers this thing has off the bat made that really hard. I didn't think it would care so much that I installed a dvd image off of a usb stick, but apparently that was a no-no and any of the fixes I looked up were not working for me.

I read in one forum that MX Linux works well, and the one other person who was getting my errors just settled with using that instead. So I had that downloading while I was trying out Debian, just in case. I got the KDE edition, because I just put it on my new desktop with Linux Mint instead of Cinnamon. The level of customization is amazing! Debating if I should put MX on the desktop too. So far it's not giving me any problems on the laptop! Internet drivers installed with no problems and no error messages when I install things! Hope it stays that way. #linux #noob
