Surely the amount of oxygen produced must be exactly equal to that consumed by the fuel cells to produce the emitted water?

The oxygen cycle forms a closed loop, so I’m not sure why they bothered to mention it. It’s not like we’re running out of oxygen, and even if we were, this woudn’t effect a net change in the amount.
