iOS 27 allows 3rd party shortcuts actions to run for longer than 30 seconds making me publish 2 actions that have been hidden behind feature flags for years.

Create cloud servers, run commands and destroy them again right from Shortcuts.

Video would have taken 107 seconds without edits.

@palmin @viticci 1. Very cool! 2. More importantly, how the heck are you doing that neat “Waiting for SSH animation?” 👀
@mergesort @viticci The animation is a braille spinner that are commonly used inside terminals where text is all we have.
@palmin @viticci I see some packages that implement this but is this a unicode character that you can plug into a Shortcut like it looks like you’ve done?

@palmin having trouble articulating why but there is something very funny about this.

`Destroy Cloud Server` makes for one helluva shortcut action registration lol

Secure shellfish!

Hot take: it's criminal that Apple hasn't given you an obscene amount of money and/or a cushy job and incorporated the secure shellfish functionality into the OS. This makes the ipad into a usable computer and not a glorified oversized video game. I bought it day 1, but it should be built-in. Just sayin.

@tbortels Thank you so much for the kind words.

I think perhaps I’m too old and grumpy to work for anyone even if the employer was Apple and the job cushy. 😅

@palmin

Thank you for making my ipad actully useful.

They could just say "wow that's a good app, we'd like to include it with the OS. Here's a trunkload of cash, and we'll pay you more slightly-smaller trunkloads for updates. Deal?"

They won't. But they should.
