Millions of passengers have travelled on #London Northwestern Railway’s (LNR) Class 730/2 Aventra trains during their first year in service. Built by Alstom at its Derby Litchurch Lane Works, the 36 five-car electric #trains entered service in June 2025 and have increased capacity on routes to and from London Euston by 20%.

The fleet’s rollout, completed this year, has been linked to a 20% rise in customer satisfaction on LNR’s Trent Valley Line and a 10% increase on services between #Northampton and London. The trains offer significantly more seating than the older Class 350 units they are replacing.

LNR says the introduction of the fleet has enabled an extra 42,000 seats a week on services to and from Euston. The project has also received industry recognition, contributing to LNR being named Train Operator of the Year at the 2026 Rail Business Awards.
