I'm pretty sure the "no Apple Intelligence when booted from an external disk" thing is a security-related limitation.

(I just tried to ask why this limitation exists (and if there's a way for developers to bypass it) in the Apple Intelligence Group Lab at WWDC, but my question was rejected.)

@siracusa @dimsumthinking Just posted a question on what the exact limitations are for EU developers and what options would there be for me to test apps I would release on other markets but that also got rejected.

@ebariaux @siracusa @dimsumthinking thé question I had talking to the LLM folks at WWDC. As far as they could tell me, it’s only the SiriAI part where you’re using Siri as the main AI input.

Foundation Models and CoreAI can all be used and integrated. But you won’t be able to properly test interaction with your app via App Intents and Siri.

It’s the interoperability part they’re fighting over, not the usage of the underlying Foundation Model framework.
