I’m on the iPadOS beta!

Loving the performance improvements, the persistent menu bar (when it works).

Siri is a buggy mess right now, but has potential. I’d love an Agents.md equivalent. Siri app gaining spotlight indexing would be an amazing memory solution. Shortcuts access broken?

New Sidebars… Meh.

Spotlight Search has been completely destroyed: cmd-b to web search, gone; keyboard navigation, gone; search results, gone, behind a button. *Who removes search results from a search UI?*

Voice Control isn’t doing as much as I expected with natural language support, but it is *smooth*. Really responsive.

So, looking back at my wishlist for this release, we got… The death of UIRequiresFullscreen!

We actually seem to be approaching best-case scenario for this, where they might actually enforce this for games - which can use minimum window size APIs - and finally unlock full desktop gaming on iPad with external displays. 🥳

Now that’d be a big win for the year.

iPadOS 2026 Wishlist

With just a few weeks to go before WWDC 2026, here’s my wishlist for iPadOS in 2026! OS-level tabs This feature massively benefits screens with less real-estate to work with. It seems especially suited to iPad. It exists as a macOS feature, but I’ve pulled this out of the grab-bag because I’d like to see Apple go further than the current macOS implementation, by allowing tabs from multiple apps in the same window.

Resizable iPhone app windows was also a great surprise, and I’m interpreting it as a prelude to… You guessed it, EXTERNAL DISPLAY SUPPORT FOR IPHON- nah just kidding, it’s for the foldable isn’t it.
