Utah VPN law faces federal lawsuit from Pornhub's parent company

A law passed earlier this year would have required adult websites to continue enforcing age restrictions for Utah users — even if those users tried to disguise their location with a VPN.

@RoastbeefHashTag @eff I'm not sure this is still true. While millennias has to learn how to make computers work, kids these days have largely had a tablet and phone driven experience where software usually just works.
@eff The beauty of the internet is that there will always be some island state or underground network out there resisting censorship and survaillance, allowing global users to use sites in their jurisdiction or route traffic through their tunnels.
@eff All because ‘platforms’ have evaded & avoided proper regulation.
Perhaps there’s a reason why Meta, Google, Amazon, and Muskrat are building out their own global connectivity.
