Based on Love in the Time of Cholera, which is the only one of your 14 books I’ve read (Normal People doesn’t count, as I watched it on Netflix rather than reading it), I’d recommend The Magus by John Fowles. I read it around the same time as Love in the Time of Cholera, and, as far as I can remember, it struck some of the same chords in me. Mind you, that was probably 35 years ago, so perhaps I’d read it differently today.
