Thirumayam Fort: a citadel of Polygar Wars

Built in 1687 by the Ramnad king, Thirumayam Fort witnessed the capture of Kattabomman's brother Oomathurai during the Polygar Wars. Nicknamed "Fort of the Dumb," it features 7th-century rock-cut temples where Shiva and Vishnu share a hillside.
