The 20th century is receding in the rearview mirror.

I bought an e-book of a 1940s #fantasy novel put out in 2011 by Gollancz. In the series foreword, the editor writes that "vast troves of classic SF & Fantasy are almost certainly destined never again to see print".

Dreams of the future staying firmly in the past, yellowing paperbacks on the used book market.

@mrundkvist But at least it is accessible to read again. I remember "back in the days" the frustration trying to find part two in a trilogy when one had 1 and 3.
@GoblinQuester
Yeah, e-books are great! But it's strange to think that big names of the 20th century are almost as dead now as the slightly less famous competitors of Dickens.

@mrundkvist @GoblinQuester

Yeah-and if you find them, it's an ugly, almost unreadable Graphic scan on browning paper.

P.S.: I am one of the people who buys these "yellowing #Paperbacks". And i am often lucky to fine one in my Public-Book-Phonebooth:

Its a nice thing to be in charge of such a treasure.

@DanKen @GoblinQuester
I used to mail-order quite a lot of paperbacks too. These days I almost entirely buy those at scifi conventions.

Last year 41% of the books I finished were e-books.

I kinda dislike EBooks (old habits stick), except for being searchable like manuals or such.
