Because here's the thing and it is a big thing: People who consider themselves ordained by GOD above the law will always fucking break the law to do the awful malign perfidious shit that dogshit people who consider themselves above the law ALWAYS want to do. The problem was, as it always is, giving certain people a pass on the law being applicable to them, as long as they have enough money. We know that because we have seen it IN PLAY over and over and over again, crime and horror after fucking crime and horror.

Society that respects rich people over all others is not a functioning society, it is feudalism. Which stopped existing, at least at ONE point in time, because it fucking sucked.
