"Games where you go on a little adventure with your buddies that you're way too emotionally attached to" is like a whole category of games for me. But there's unfortunately very few of them. Off the top of my head I can think of:

- The Mass Effect trilogy
- Ikenfell
- Magical Starsign
- Custom Robo Arena
- Tales of the Abyss
- Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (specifically Time / Sky)
