So, I went to see Masters of the Universe (2026), I'll write more about the movie in a separate post. This post is about my annoyance at a specific segment of people going to the movies today.

Throughout the movie there were four people in front of me who kept sporadically checking their phones. I don't understand why people will drop $15-20 on a movie ticket and can't sit for two hours without having to touch their phones. People: There is life beyond what's happening on your phone, be in the now.

Secondly: When I got to my seat, there was an old codger in the seat to my left with his jacket draped into my seat. He clearly saw me sit, yet he left his jacket there. I moved it for him and he was annoyed at me and grumbled, "What's that smell?" with his nose crinkled. He saw my bucket of popcorn and then commented, "Oh, popcorn. That is a lot of popcorn." Thanks for your judgy comment you bastard.

During a scene where two characters are having an emotional moment, this bastard turns on his phone (not his first time) and the screen is set to full brightness and he starts checking his email. This is where I lost it and I leaned over and sternly said: "Excuse me, your phone is really bright." He apologized in an annoyed voice and turned off his phone for the rest of the movie.

When the credits started to roll, this horrible human, who had been eating outside food all during the movie, leaves all the plastic wrappers on his tray table and gets up and leaves. What a selfish stain this person is.

How did we as a society get to a point where humans like this exist? It's embarrassing.

Okay, thanks for reading my rant. I'll be stepping off my soap box now.

@mookie

Know what you mean. I pretty much only go to The Alamo with their zero-tolerance policy.

I also buy two extra seats when I buy tix, so there’s always padding between me and others. That’s three seats if it’s just me or six if it is the entire fam.

Haven’t yet had to tell anyone to get their stuff out of the buffers, but I would.

Seeing Mando later today and Masters tomorrow.

Enjoy! Mando was fun. Masters was super fun!

I should try an Alamo one of these days.

@mookie

Mandolorian was great! Loved it. Will go back and watch the show!

I am looking forward to watching the movie again when it hits Disney+. What did you think about the pacing of the movie?

@mookie

Thought it had pretty good pacing and then hit a bit of a slowdown with Mando’s poisoning. Then, picked up.

Will absolutely watch again on D+.

That's the part that got me too. It came to a grinding halt lol.
