The baby chicks mostly sit in a pile at this point, which makes it hard to tell how many there are. Sometimes you can count all the beaks though. Surprisingly, all seven eggs hatched! Usually some don't make it this far. They always have fuzzy Don King style hair at this point.
They grow up so fast. This morning the nest was crowded with seven nearly full size birds still in there. By mid morning they had all left the nest.
The chickadee parents did a really good job this year. All seven eggs hatched and all hatchlings lived to leave the nest. Usually some are lost along the way, both before and after hatching. After hatching the parents are constantly feeding the chicks, flying back and forth all day long.
