Oh no, Sugar Bear is in danger!

If you use “AI” image generation to create an ad for your business that includes home electrical wiring, maybe check to see if your spokes-bear is about to kill itself.

@zackstern
weirdly mirrored, too

hot and neutral the right way around, the bear using the right hand, shirt and hat mirrored

@zackstern the laziness / lack of care continues all the way to the image of the bear being flipped as well (lettering on cap, backwards US flag)

I’m guessing the spicy autogen spat out a bear facing left & they just went “eh – flip it & ship it, who cares?”

^ why does every. fucking. thing. in the US have to have the fucking flag on it…? 🤢🤮

@itgrrl @zackstern Honestly for me, it's to the point that I avoid flag-branded stuff when I can.

@itgrrl @ZiggyZapf yeah that’s my read on flipping the image design too.

I’ve lived a few places in the U.S. and always thought it weird that some/many “blue collar” worker uniforms include an American flag. It comes up on delivery drivers, building repair—plumbing, electrical, whatever—mechanics, sometimes factory jobs.

But now I’m wondering if workers in any other countries have similar flag branding. There must be examples but maybe we lead this?

@zackstern Bonus points for then mirroring the stupid bear and forgetting about the logo on the cap.
@zackstern with a flipped "SB" aptly becoming "BS"...
@stragu and no red flags on this from the person approving the ad? Yikes.
@GreatBigTable @stragu “Hey ChatGPT does this ad look okay?”

@zackstern AI is very helpful to showcase stupidity but unfortunately not a requirement.

@mschomm @zackstern as someone who has repaired many motherboards i can confirm i sometimes do this.

remember: if it smells like chicken, you're holding it wrong!

@mschomm @zackstern Now take a guess where the bots picked up the concept of electrics 😅
Honestly, it's what keeps me calm about the "robot apocalypse". Most of the Terminators will get tangled up in electric wire. 🤷‍♀️
@zackstern I mean you took a picture and many people reacted. So this advert absolutely works as intended.
@zackstern At least (s)he’s holding the insulated part of the screwdriver.Do American homes have loose wires put in their sockets?
@zackstern This just in: Sugar bear becomes caramel bear in unexpected turn of events.
@zackstern its even mirrored so altogether it looks super dumb
@zackstern notice the backwards “sb” on the hat, the cross-eyed bear and the backwards flag. Yeah, whoever did this ad ought to be unemployed.
@zackstern Could be a mains tester? But do we even get to have electricity if AI data centres demand more?
@zackstern gonna be a real short day on the job 🥁🎉

@zackstern

I can see they decided to flip the bear graphic horizontally to fit their layout better or something, but also flipping the "SB" on the hat so it's still readable would clearly have been too much effort.

@zackstern I had to stop and look at this again when I got home because my brain didn’t like realize how absolutely ridiculous this is.
@zackstern I call local business advertisments like these SFN ads, because they were clearly made by Somebody’s Fucking Nephew who has an open-source image editor and really wants to study design when he finishes high school next year (and good for him). Generative AI has brought a whole new layer of weirdness to SFN ads.
@zackstern Cross-eyed bear? They oughta have known..

@zackstern only you can stop house fires
@zackstern burning down your house, as a service 🔥 ... that will reduce the chaos, alright!
