Map of Byzantium/Constantinople/Istanbul, 16th century AD (Franz Hogenberg)
That’s nobody’s business but the Turks’.
So, take me back to Constantinople
We’re maps like these supposed to be somewhat informational? For example, could someone familiar with the town at the time point out a random building and day “ah yes, Terry the Thatcher lived here”? Obviously i feel like larger streets and the position of buildings like the lord’s manner or the local fort would be fairly accurate, but what about the other inhabitants?
Why did Constantinople get the works?
