Since my grown kids left the house, I've been resorting to my old lifestyle of seeing lots of live music. I'm doing it because I am currently upright, mobile and healthy. But who knows for how long, right? So my attitude is basically, fuck it, I'm all in. Well, I just got another reminder why I should keep going this route after learning of an old friend's passing overnight. We saw a lot of music together back in the day, drank a lot of beer, smoked a lot of cheeba and watched a lot of sports. I'm gonna go see music and dance this afternoon. Why? Because I'm still here. Buy the ticket. Take the ride.
@Conville Oh, fuck. I'm sorry.
@Conville sorry about your friend. heartily endorse living while we can though
@clifff #Dizgo has a song called Livin It Up where they sing "living it up, because you never know". Exactly.
@Conville my sympathies for you and friendโ€™s loved ones. Iโ€™ve seen too many of my contemporaries leave this coil the past few years. Youโ€™ve got the right idea.
@Kealoha321 I've seen a few of my high-school classmates drop the past couple of years and that kinda smacks you right in the face. I'm not waiting until its too late to do stuff I want.
@Conville I feel you. My hs girlfriend and I had been back in touch the last couple years. She convinced me to come to our class reunion last summer which I bought flights to only to pass from lung cancer two months before the reunion. I was devastated. But on a positive note, some other friends and myself were able to organize a beautiful and very personal memorial to plant a tree in her honor on the grounds of our hs while I was there. It helped us all grieve and come together in shared love and purpose.
