(Not being native english speaker) it is not (always) easy (for me)
I too am confused.
@Korawolfsrain The prince has started question their gender, and wonder if they might be a princess. They've gone to ask the dragon, hoping for a definitive answer.
The dragon could say, but refuses to, not wanting to influence the young royal.
