am always somewhat afeared that my art's gonna be claimed some crappy slop (cuz i draw like sloppy AI lmao) sooooo fr tooting my pencil sketches helps me to make sure am seen as just a messy artist loooool.
@ahDorchaich my pencil drawings are messy, so when I ink them I often end up scribbling approximation of fingers or spaces between figures.
The defining difference, is that I do it out of lack of skill – mistakes correspond with the overall level of polish.
And AI makes rookie mistakes in images that look very high effort at a glance.
@n13e86 when i notice my lack of skill mid-drawing i get annoyed and might discard the whole thing honestly. but then, am a self-judgemental perfectionist... i did ink a few of my sketches tho generally i draw with ink from the start - without sketching. well it looks kinda... messy, aye xD and mostly ugly lol. but i still do like that stuff anyway, the process's just cool.
which inks do you use btw? like, those india inks with dip pens or something else? i mostly use my fountain pens for that but recently decided to try some dip nibs as well, cant say i enjoy all of them - some appeared to be not my cup of tea...
