A Google engineer made $1.2M on Polymarket betting on who would be announced as the most searched person of the year was just arrested for insider trading.

People need to realize only government officials get away with that blatant a degree of insider trading.

@carnage4life I don’t quite understand how Polymarket works. Is it governed by the SEC? Does our country have general “insider trading” gambling laws?
@ramsey @carnage4life it's all in the article. Trump family is invested in the companies so the Trump gov declared it to be a futures trade and not gambling.
And it seems to be the trend among smaller betters to just follow big betters, because insider knowledge is assumed.
