For a thousand dollars, Costco sold me a shiny, speedy, doorstop. I didn't know that. I thought I was buying a speedier laptop (HP Omnibook X), with more memory, and tech support.
It has been challenging to use, most of all because the cursor is haunted, by a hant that enjoys apportation. I've tried this, that, and the other that I thought of or found online. No luck. And I have trouble sizing window to screen, and a few other things.
Finally, this evening--not quite a week, it turns out, after the 90-day return period expired!--I called tech support.
I was told they only provide support for hardware problems.
"But this doesn't happen on my other machines."
"We don't provide support for applications."
I'll have to go elsewhere for the tech support that I thought was bundled with the machine.
Be warned. I've been a Costco member since the company was named Price Club. I wouldn't dare buy electronics from them.
