Anyone have feedback on sourcehut ? I am drawn to it for reasons I cannot explain. But I have been babyfed to pull request since, idk, 15 years ?
I have been using PRs forever, and CIs. But let's be honest, with the shit storm that various forges are facing, creating PRs and waiting forever for an overcrowded and underscaled CI, for a solo dev like me, it makes no sense.
There must be a better way. And I feel like sourcehut might be the calm shelter I seek.

#sourcehut #git #forge

@romaintb What about Codeberg? Or self-hosting your own Forgejo instance? Drew DeVault (one of the people behind sourcehut) has been involved in a bit of drama over the years, so you might wanna have a look into that. I thought this was worth mentioning, I do appreciate DeVault's contributions to FOSS, but some antics I disagree with.
@graves501 I do use codeberg daily. And I love the project and cannot be thankful enough for the good people maintaining it. But the ci is really struggling, and it's slowing me down quite a bit. So idk, am just trying to see what's out there. And I am very curious about other paradigms entirely. People built entire OSes with email patches, so am really questioning my workflow these days 🤷
@graves501 that said, thanks a lot for the pointers, not a big drama fan but we're in an era where ethics is everything, so I'd better do my research !
