I think it's important to respect the values and cultures of the various societies around the world...

... whilst also establishing the immutable fact that Vegemite is awesome.

Like, it's just not tenable to respect Marmite and Promite adherents. They're simply wrong.

And making side-eyes at marmilade fanatics is entirely reasonable.

@troberts Promite > Vegemite by a country mile. :P

@david I wasn’t sure how to respond, but then I found this website, so I’ll let some strangers voice their opinion.

There wasn’t much love for Promite. Here’s what some of our testers thought of it:

“Just foul.” (Jason)
“Unholy.” (Amy P)
“Like a petrochemical.” (Amanda)
“Unpleasant.” (Dean)
“Greasy, paint-like concoction.” (Kim)
“Awful flavour, barely edible.” (Kate B)
“WHY SO FISHY??!?” (JB)
“Is there mustard in this? I feel sick. HATE.” (Jason)

Who came out on top in our mighty Mite taste test? - CHOICE

CHOICE pitted the original Vegemite against other yeast extracts like Marmite, ProMite, Vegemite Reduced Salt, AussieMite, OzEmite, British Marmite, Vegemite Gluten Free and Mightymite to see which one our taste testers preferred. The winner might surprise you!

CHOICE
@david (Truthfully, it’s been years since I had it, so I don’t know.)
@troberts @david I quite like Promite. It's the only one that works ok without butter.
@timrichards Why go nude?!? Butter makes everything better! 😆 @troberts @david
@SeaFury @timrichards @troberts sans-butter is the go for promite. It’s how I use it on toast.
@troberts weirdos - probably Vegemite eaters

@troberts @david What they don’t tell you about “low-salt Vegemite” is that it’s just “low-sodium Vegemite”, and that they replaced some of the Salt™¹ with another salt. Which makes it medically hazardous for a different group of people.

¹ sodium chloride
² potassium chloride
