A9 nightmare this morning but we're seeing parts of Perthshire we've not seen before
#OnTheRoadAgain #A9
If course that picture is not the A9 ....
@HelenLockhart Been wondering how your A roads were that small 😁
@yngmar yes sorry! That was a road we ended up on as part of the detour
@HelenLockhart Indeed, I just wanted to ask. 🤭 One never knows, countries can be so different. In France we have such roads but never let so much space between the cars. 😆
@NatureMC 😂Sorry that was the detour road
@HelenLockhart @withaveeay Oh goodness, were you caught up in that lorry 🚛🔥 outside Dunkeld? Been reading about that. Looked dramatic.
@xylophilist @withaveeay yes we turned off before it so didn't see it but it sounds like the road was melted!
@xylophilist @HelenLockhart We decided we'd rather look at the Perthshire backroads, forgetting that (a) a lot of others, or their satnavs, had the same thought, and (b) single-track roads apparently cause paralysis.
Still we saw some really beautiful parts of Perthshire, which was the reason we left the A9

@withaveeay @HelenLockhart Urggh, that paralysis is the worst - had something similar all down Glen Etive on monday. Urgh.

But the detours either Blairgowrie or Hermitage/Amulree turnoff have their favourable moments, definitely :)

@HelenLockhart TBH I have always found the best way to get through Perthshire is slowly. Stopping frequently for fresh fruit, swims and canoeing.
@Wen Much as I'd love to have done that we are on a work schedule. But I did look longingly at a strawberry farm ..... perhaps on our way home.
