It used to be that on hot days the government would close everything down and you would be told to pair off and lie on the grass somewhere and do some fingering. Not any more though, thanks to EU red tape. They promised Brexit would Bring Back Fingering, but I’m not seeing any evidence of that, myself.

@TwoClownsEating I blame the imposition of German Fingering by Brussels. We lost our own native fingering culture.

@Nickiquote @TwoClownsEating now of course I want to know exactly how the German and English fingering differ in the particular cases of F and F sharp, because clearly they must take care of different holes.
