@JMarkOckerbloom I do not find this surprising, at all. I recall reading about their finances and business practises a few years ago during one of the donation drives...
Plus my experience trying to correct some articles on subjects I knew quite a bit was really bad. The edits were reverted within a day, discussion was fruitless.
