300 detainees inside are on Day 7 of a hunger and labor strike as of today.
ICE is beating, gassing, tasing and assaulting protestors outside every night, and it is getting worse."

"Every night is worse.
Last night they tear-gassed at point blank range, beat protestors with batons, and chased a protestor into oncoming traffic where his leg was run over by an 18 wheeler.
The night before they targeted an organizer and medic, tackled him, tore off his mask, kidnapped him and dumped him ten miles away.
They pepper sprayed a sitting senator on Monday."

"We need wall to wall coverage. The hunger strike has spread to 5 detention camps nationwide while White House claims it’s a handful & 'sanctuary politicians' are inventing this.
Delaney detainees are fed worm-infested food, forced slave labor in exchange for showers, denied cancer & HIV meds. A woman miscarried and was denied medical care. They are denied water, forced to sit in menstrual blood w/no sanitary supplies."

I think we know why and the answer is not pretty
I'm in Minneapolis and just don't understand why we don't send the cops to arrest these criminal fucks. Last I heard, kidnapping was a pretty serious crime. NJ should SWAT the cunts guarding that facility. They're cowards. They'll fold like a freshly dried pair of tighty whities.
And, while it's nice that we actually did arrest one or two up here in the frosty North, I'd rather see better from the law than, "maybe we'll arrest less than one percent of the criminals, but only after a couple months and only if civilians collect enough evidence to justify an arrest." I actually think we should take away all the cop cars. Make them fuckers ride the bus to the crime scene if they have no interest in actually preventing crime, but only maybe arresting someone long after.
Two unions?
Cops shouldn't be allowed to have a union. They exist to break unions. A cop union is like a soldier union. How well you think that'd work out on the battlefield?
Wow. Thanks for the historical context.
Me, I'd like to go all Black Panthers and drive those fuckers out of our city. Patrolling squads of armed citizens and snipers on the roof. ICE would tuck their tail between their legs and run away crying if they thought the good people were actually going to shoot back. I say we shoot first. I understand why I'm not allowed a voice :) I like to actually solve problems, but then the country would be too nice. All our problems are artificially created to give the people the illusion of progress while the 0.01% laugh all the way to the bank.

"While reporting on a large police presence breaking up a protest outside Delaney Hall ICE facility in New Jersey, Ali Velshi is escorted away by police."
@_L1vY_ there's a history of this dynamic from the end stages of communist Poland where local leaders sending riot police after protesters is viewed (by many people who lived through it) as their attempt to prevent the Russians from sending in the military to do it with live ammunition.
I don't think it was true then (lack of intervention probably had more to do with internal problems in other parts of the USSR) but it's definitely not true here, they don't have that leverage yet.
