Loops Beta 12 Is Here

The biggest Loops release yet. Starter Kits that talk to Mastodon, real creator analytics, multi-account, video embeds, and a long list of things you asked for.

@dansup Congratulations, but i could not find a way to download it.

@tofm2 if you're on iOS, you find it in the Apple Store. If you're on Android, you find the APK here: https://joinloops.org/join-the-beta

@dansup but what I don't get: the APK has been updated two times (release 4, release 5, see my screenshot), but I don't see any actual changes in the app? None of the last things that had been introduced to https://loops.video in my browser.

@hannes99 @tofm2 @dansup The APK clearly hasn't been updated. After downloading it, the file was listed as a duplicate of the old APK. I appreciate Dan's work but am kinda getting frustrated with the lack of prioritization Android recieves. For months, we've been hearing "soon" or even "later this week" and the quality of my Loops experience has definitely been affected by the lack of progress. This is coming from a Loops content creator.

@NewerLeaf I personally prefer https://loops.video in my mobile browser anyway, but I thought the app was updated, too and wanted to test it. Meanwhile, yesterday @dansup promised the APK will be updated soon, too. Guess it's only a matter of days.

The flagship Loops server, a new creative community for sharing videos and going viral.

@hannes99 @NewerLeaf @tofm2 The new Android APK will be released later today!

It has several improvements and bug fixes, along with Loops Studio.

@dansup and, hopefully, also Starter Kits? πŸ™‚ the main reason why so many people I invited in collections didn't accept even after weeks, is that they're using the app (on either iOS or Android) and didn't get any notification.

@NewerLeaf @tofm2

@dansup @hannes99 @tofm2 Yeah, is this APK coming with all the other features you've been releasing, such as starter kits, the GIF keyboard and multi-account support? I get DMs are likely a collosal task but when should we be expecting them in the apps as well?

@dansup thanks for letting me know. Will test it immediately 😎
@dansup so it's bug fixes, you can now filter AI content, the Loops Studio (the symbol πŸ‘£ is a bit misleading, makes me think "logout?") with analytics (which is great!), but still without StarterKits (including starter kit notifications for addition requests from web users) and playlists?

@dansup ah and there's GIFs for comments now πŸ‘ But still not the "Embed" (sharing) option for videos, we have on the web. And ofc, the multiple login function, but I didn't expect it in the app yet, anyway.

Please note I'm only testing, I'm mostly a web user anyway (so am I for Mastodon!), even if both the web and the app had the identical functions or if the web even lacked some – but that's just me!

@dansup what if the Android/iOS apps were simply, let's say, web browsers? I was wondering about this on Mastodon, too, where the official app lacks behind the web. Or isn't this how things work?
@tofm2 @dansup The android app is outdated and you can only install it with the apk
@dansup Is that update translated in the app also ?
