@kimcrawley @davidgerard Just remember that it is in the AI bros' interest to be pushing the narrative that they need to be stopped because the AI is so powerful. They want people to think the AI is better than it is.

As an added bonus they also want the lockin, they actually want it to be hard to follow all the rules and regulations society puts on them because than it takes more money to start a competing company. They have all the money they need to follow regulation or ignore it and just pay the fines but a new actor will be fast killed by government and they don't have to do a thing about it.

I don't understand why
leftists/progressives treat this statement as something to align with. It's criti-hype voiced by the head of one of the biggest criminal organisations in the world. All it does is a) reinforcing the idea that there is "good AI" and b) painting the Vatican as a friendly force.
