I recall quoting that from somewhere a while ago - then tried to find where I'd seen it, which was quite recent at the time, but I had no luck finding it. Most likely in my Mastodon feed, which doesn't tell you much at all. But my feed had a lot more discussion of all of that a while back (a couple of months I guess) with people more openly confused about it.

At the time we were also looking at pictures like this one.

Agreed, it has a certain something for casual use.
