Spent the long weekend in Central Washington wandering around in nature looking for critters. One of my goals was to find a rattlesnake, and we succeeded! I've wanted to see a rattlesnake in the wild since I was a kid.

Here is a northern Pacific rattlesnake hiding under some sagebrush.

@munificent they are not hard to find there! When I was a kid in E WA I was walking my dog when we stumbled on a rattler that coiled up and did the whole rattle routine. Thank goodness she was on leash or she probably would have gone for the snake and had a bad night at the vet at the very least.
