I believe a release of an open source project should be immutable -- that is, if a project releases version named, say, 7.1b, it should not produce another release artifact, with different content, that also claims to be 7.1b.

@meka Yeah, in this context I mean at least somewhat widely used software -- something that would be in the FreeBSD ports collection and Debian's archive, say.
