


@reiddragon @redsad well, ultraviolet radiation destroys folate, so excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation can cause a folate deficiency.
that's bad in general (since we need folate for basic cellular function and cell repair), but it's especially bad during pregnancy, since it can lead to serious birth defects. (which, content warning for anyone who searches the web for that. it is disturbing.)
